Mega dynoplaluza!

Hey gang, got together with Driver72 today to do a few more runs. The dyno operator wasn't there so we got a bit dirty strapping in the cars, but it was a lot of fun.

Anyway this one chart gives people a good idea of what to expect from basic tunes. This isn't to say one tune is better or worse, or that you can't say raise the boost on tune Z to get better results. The cars are more or less equal and both have stock exhaust, aside from differences noted below.

The bottom line was:

Procede v1.47 / 92 octane (not shown on chart): 336/368
Procede v2.02 / 92 octane / 92% settings: 345/352
JB2H / catless downpipes / 91 octane: 347/374
JB2HR / catless downpipes / 97 octane: 377/419

and just for kicks:

JB2HR / catless downpipes / 97 octane / no air filter: 383/422

FWIW my guess is if the v2.02 car ran @ 100% (~15psi vs 13psi shown above), on 97 octane, with downpipes, that it would wind up pretty close to the JB2HR tune above. It's all about boost and octane.

Haha it should go nuts, I bet almost 400rw with that intake! I don't plan to go for a few weeks but the dyno we're using is on Canoga by Devonshire, it's called LA performance division. Just say Terry sent you, might get a few dollars off.

What can I say? I am impressed. Good numbers Terry. What catless dp are the ones used on the car, UR or Riss Racing? Thanks!

They are the UR catless. What impressed me most was the stock catback! Very little drop in power compared to aftermarket, maybe 10rwhp tops, when combined with downpipes.

Hey Terry,

Can you clarify?

Do you mean that stock exhaust + DPs is 10hp down on a setup that consists of aftermarket exhaust + stock DPs?

A couple weeks ago I dynod with the catless downpipes, 2nd cat delete, and cutouts (byassing stock mufflers), on 96 octane, and did ~377rwhp/430rwtq.

I'm not sure what 1 octane point is worth, but I figure going from open exhaust / no cats / no resonator to factory mufflers / resonator / 2nd cats didn't cost me much power wise. Just a little midrange torque, and I have too much of that now as it is.

A couple months ago I also did a dyno on factory downpipes, open exhaust, etc on the JB2R (not the H), on 96 octane, and did around 345/380, but that was on a dyno that is known to read 10rwhp less.

So from what I can tell, the catless downpipes and H were worth 20rwhp and a ton of torque.

Awesome!! Thanks! I will wait a few weeks as well since Vishnu said that they will release a catless downpipe map soon. After that goes on then i would be down to meet up with you guys and Dyno at the same time... Maybe get a group discount If not then after i get the map i will dyno again... Great numbers and great product Terry!!

Always 4th gear. We are both auto so it's tricky, we can't floor it all the way or it down shifts. You just give the auto 98% throttle and it will stay in 4th.

How civil of Terry to state what he did before showing that his numbers were higher in every regard.

And that he's comparing his results to that of a virtually stock car running 13psi of boost
