HELP!
I was using BMWhat to disable the sidemarker lights on my 2010 328i
after doing so, now im getting an error The door wont lock, the windows wont roll up, the remote is not locking the door, the dome light wont go out. Now when I open BMWhat its not detecting the FRM ECU, it says not installed. Im thinking about trying to disconnect the battery and reconnect as I dont know what else to do. |

- voltage fluctuation - poor quality obd adapter cable - existing problem with module etc etc BMW recommends a stable power supply when diag / coding / flashing I worry when I see soo many people chancing it without an external power supply. 99% of the time its OK, but people need to be aware of the risks. I've seen modules bricked even with ICOM A2 being used. |

Why is it the FRM specifically that people so often seem to brick? Seems strange that it's that one module that seems to be problematic.
Also seems strange that there's no way to recover it, either - shouldn't it still be possible to flash it somehow?

If the hardware is intact then id imagine there are ways to recover it. I've never seen an FRM module PCB before but it may have serial / test point access. |

Its not so difficult. But will require changing some pins depending on what head lamp units you have. this thread explains it: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=838604 |

Your Lighting module is fried....There is NOTHING that can be done other than replacing the frm module...Its located in the drivers side footwell right behind the latch to open up the hood...

I know its an old thread but wondering whether these errors can be fixed. I've read in some forums that if you update the FRM module, it will clear the error and after updating the module, it needs to be programmed with the car's VIN number.
