Has anyone attempted this ?
Has anyone ever tried fitting custom led angel eyes to pre lci lights? I know I can change to lci but fancied something different ! I've seen the custom lights that lite angels do and quiet fancy having a go myself. The problem I'm having is finding halo rings in different sizes.
Any insight would be great Cheers Ben |

Do you mean adding after market angel eyes to OEM halogen lights?
I've never seen it done myself. I know its more expensive but have you considered an OEM xenon conversion? |

What car do you have?
If it is an E90 then i recommend you just upgrade to LCI. If you have an E92 there are a number of companies that sell angel eye kits for e92s Umnitza the most popular which sell kits for about $350 or ONEighty sell the full rings for $300. http://www.umnitza.com/predator-orio...60-p-6141.html |

I have looked into the oem conversion but I just can't justify the £500-£600 they seem to sell for! My cars a e90 with standard halogen my hope was that I could find a company that sell the rings in different sizes but that seems to be proving difficult. Any ideas on this are greatly appreciated lol

The problem with e90 headlights is that they don't open easily to allow LED rings to be fitted. With an e92 you can use a heatgun to open a set of headlights. With an e90 i think you have to use a dremel or something similar to cut open the headlights as they don't have a premiseal. As a result not many companies tend to offer a retrofit service for e90 headlights.

Thanks for the kind words sam!!!
I will also let you know now. You cannot retrofit angel eyes into E90 Halogen Pre LCI headlights. The internal design does not allow for it. Anything can realistically be done, but it will look terrible and horribly bodged. Another option is to purchase DEPO LED Angel Eye headlights from the states. But ensure they are RHD Ready |

I got my LCI halogens with angel eyes that I added LEDs to the rings for £200 + £35 for the LEDs. They seem to range from 200 to 300 depending on the position of the moon. Keep looking, they are the best value for money light conversion for a pre lci. The depo's IMHO look odd as the angels are so small.

Been contemplating doing something like this myself too.. I think the pre-lci fronts on my car are a bit of a let down. Always jealous when an lci passes me with bright halo's!
Seen Josh1a1h's work on liteangels and that's actually what made me think about having a go myself! Not sure how easy it would be though..

LCI halogens come with angel eyes (rings) as standard. There is no need to take them apart to get the look. You can then just change the halogen bulb to an LED replacement to get the 'white' rings. They are not as bright as the e92 lci rings, but still give you the look at a reasonable price.

i didnt read all the comments above so apologies if its been said but opening pre lci e90 headlamps is near impossible to do without permanent damage (in my experience). i luckily got a cracked one from a scrappy for free to practice opening it and it was a nightmare!

It is possible, if I get myself a few hundred spare then I'd love to retrofit projectors and angel eyes like these:
I love the look, but as others have said, they're a pain to open and its very much trial and error, these are the only ones I've ever seen done to a decent quality. The glass has not been replaced in this photo btw. |

Ive opened a few. But it is such a pain in the ass You end up destroying the light to get it open. I have a few new techniques up my sleeve after speaking to a few of the big companies in the states. But it is so time consuming and the money i'd want to charge wouldn't make it worthwhile. We have retrofitted angels to a set of depo headlights. But it isn't the cleanest job and doesn't look as OEM as our E92 conversions. But the customer was just happy to have very bright angels on his E90 |

But unless you have a friendly MOT centre... you will fail on the spot. All Projector Retrofits must have auto levelling control. So this goes for Depo headlights too. |

I recently did a pre-lci to lci full headlight swap, and added Horizon LED angel eye bulbs at the same time. I would recommend doing this personally, worked great! £250 for lights from ebay, few quid for the LEDs, and about an hour to swap over, very easy and straightforward swap. OEM too
