Insuremyexcess.com ?
Has anyone used this to cover the access on their BMW warranty?
I have a quote of £37 a month for the Named Components cover but with a £250 excess. I can get this covered along with the excess on my motor, house insurance as well for an annual fee of £73 from the above company |

Id rather put the £37 in my own bank every month!
Then you have the cash for whatever is needed, not just a list of what they cover. Also, if you never need it, you've still got the money and not paid it to a middle man |

How much extra would BMW charge for a zero excess?
Insurance companies take more money in than they pay out. So the law of averages are on their side. We cover ourselves against the big losses in fear of something big going wrong. That is understandable due the the risk and expense involved. There isn't any reason to insure yourself against small amounts of money like £250. If you try and insure everything you own over £250, you'll soon be up to your eyeballs in insurance policies. Unless you are unlucky, you'll always pay out more than you will get back. I wouldn't bother doing it. |

Extended warranty even at £37 is well worth it.i took it out at £35 a month with £100 excess as I'll guarantee the 335 will need well more than that spent on it in a year.

It is a gamble for you to take.
I've had my 335i on extended warranty for 3 years now. I've made one claim in 3 years. That was the water pump just a few weeks ago. I've put in more than I've got back. It's just the peace of mind for the potentially big failures. |

Am I right in thinking the parts needed for servicing are covered under warranty ? |

I've spent £2K on repair for my 335 in the last 6 months, 2.5 years prior no probelms at all. I've accepted that the 335 is a tempermental beast, but the performance is worth the hassel of getting things fixed, and to be quite honest £2k of repairs in 3 years of ownership is not really that much when you consider how much I've spend on mods in the same time frame.
If my car was stock I would be very tempted by a warranty, but as it is I just see it as an opptunity to replace/upgrade bits....Been listening out for a wastegate rattle for the last 12months so that I can justify getting some RB tubos ![]() ![]() But getting insurance for insurance ![]() |

My 320d had, seriously here guys, £10000 worth of work done through the warranty in 3 years.
The warranty cost me sub 700 a year. That was, the full air con system twice (I know right), clutch, flywheel, prop shaft, and a bunch more I can't remember. So if I'd not had that warranty I would have simply been fucked. But the 335d, I've paid for the warranty twice now (It's a 5 year old car), and never used it. Based on the 320d experience I'm damn well going to keep renewing though..
