Hi guys, I’m about to have my intake valve cleaned pretty soon and I’d like to know if there is anything else I should perform while in there. I have already planned to swap the stock charge pipe to VRSF and Tial BOV.

Any other sensor, gasket, vacuum line, etc that I should check/replace while everything is removed ??

Oil filter housing gasket is easier to do without the intake in the way. Depending on your milage I would consider replacing your valvecover and gasket to help improve your NA PCV system. A RB PCV valve is also a good upgrade for the on boost system.

Be carefull with the nipple on the intake plenum.

It's a good time to upgrade to a single turbo when your valves are clean.

Belt and tensioner if you haven't done it and you're at the mileage to. Not any easier with the intake out but do it anyway.

LPFP sensor is easily accessible with cover off!

X2 but valve cover can be a bit time consuming.

How's your starter? It's under the manifold if it needs replacing. Many of us have had it go out around 80k

I'm getting an RB PVC valve. My car isn't that high mileage (45k) so I think I'll wait for the most expensive components.

Do I need to replace intake manifold gasket (6 pcs kit) ??

Good time for new plugs while it is apart. Don't think you need to replace intake manifold gaskets.

They are o-rings have them on hand and reuse the old ones if in good shape. You'll need to replace them eventually and the intake will be off a few times in the future for walnut blasting if not something else.

You should replace your intake manifold gaskets and the throttle body gasket. I am assuming you cleaned the throttle body.

I would put some synthetic grease on the fingers of the intake manifold where the electric box slides on. This has a tendency to stick the there over time and has been noted as being a PITA for getting off as a result.

I agree with the posters about changing the oil filter housing gasket. This will leak no question. Its just a matter of when. Usually between 75 and 100k.

Are you sure you have a valve cover gasket leak? Often times the oil filter housing gasket leaks near the valve cover gasket, on the front of the engine, and gives the owner of the car the impression that either they have a head gasket leak or a valve cover gasket leak.

There is a DIY on the valve cover gasket. This is pretty involved. It will take you several hours and you should not try it alone, unless your short terms memory is exceptional. I would drink some beer with a buddy. 2 set of eyes are better then one. Lots of connections (electrical) and parts that need to be removed.

I would suggest removing and spraying down your map sensor on the intake manifold with MAF cleaner spray. Credit for this one goes to Jamesm3m5 on here - I did it yesterday and it smoothed out how the car idles and drives a bit (little bumps and hesitations). It was covered in oil blow-by when I pulled it out.
