Read and dont laugh at me..

Hey guys one thing I found is so weird and maybe everyone knew it but me. I usually get 93 octane in shell but when I fill my tank at sunoco with 93 I always make more miles. With shell 93 , dash board shows between 370-390 and with sunoco its always over 430 with full tank. And I swear in slow traffic sunoco's 93 showed 504 on dash board after I drove 25-30 miles on highway. Anyone else notice it? Sunoco is better than shell?

Ive noticed that shell actually is better with me and the engine sounds like its running smoother- maybe its V-power placebo. I wouldnt go off of what the dash says. I would actually do full on calculations after an entire tank of each under similar drivng conditions. That's the best way to figure it out.

I've used many different mfg. of gas & never noticed any difference in mileage or performance (I use 93 due to tune) - but then I'm NA too...

I don't know if this is a joke or not....but FYI the total milage that shows on your dashboard is an estiamte calculated based on present driving habbits ( by averaging how much mpg you are currently getting) not what type of gas you filled your car with. The only way to know if Shell is better or worse in terms of MPG is if you are able to drive exactly the same (going the exact speed and distance) with two sepeare tanks, one with Shell and one with Sunoco. Then calculating the average MPG you got with both different types of gasoline.

ok I put in shell and go to work for a few weeks refueling at the same station every time on my commute route and it stays at 21-21.1 mpg - everyday, this doesn't move.

Next I try Sunoco and do the same (refuel and commute) for 2 weeks - the car dial moves up the very next day to 21.5-21.6 and stays there until after I put shell back in.

My route is ~150 miles round trip and I'm pretty consistent how I drive on it since I'm either still waking up going to work or very tired coming back.

Interesting...I also use shell on the regular but when I do fill up at other stations I feel like I also notice slight variations in certain aspects but it may just be my head.

Shell has power in its 93 octane name so it must be good

Since we're talking abt mpg, I used to average those numbers till I put in fmic, now its 23+ ... gotta love the 7"
