Shredded Serpentine belt and mystery Oil Filter Housing Leak
So last Wednesday I got a red battery light followed by a complete loss of power steering about a mile later. Come to find out I had a shredded serpentine belt. I was able to repair the belt and install new pulleys. But now I have a mystery oil leak at the front of the oil filter housing thats coming from near the oil cooler feed/return lines. I can literally watch the oil start to slowly seap out when I turn on the engine. Is it possible that the front section of the oil filter housing is cracked? I can't tighten the oil feed/return lines any tighter. (PERHAPS I over torqued them??) It seems to be leaking out of the right line (not sure if thats the feed or return when looking at the front of the engine) that connects into the H-Clip of the other oil feed/return line.
BACK STORY: A week or so prior to that I replaced both gaskets on the oil filter housing due to what I thought was a leak between them. I believe this was the cause of the serpentine belt shredding prematurely due to the oil and gunk getting on the pulleys and rapidly deteriorating them. Advice from you guys is welcome! Thanks for your help.

Sorry man. That does suck.
I wonder if the shredded belt smacked one of the lines. It could have caused damage between the hose and metal connection. *shrug* Just another possibility. Subscribed for images. |

Bump for some help....
Anyone know if there are supposed to be O-Ring Gaskets/Washers that go in between where the feed/return lines attach to the Oil Filter and Thermostat Housing? On realoem.com it doesn't look like it.

Each oil cooler line has an oring. Also-every shredded belt I've seen on these engines sucks belt into the engine. Be sure to remove the crank pulley and inspect.
