How to set Nav screen to a certain default display?

I've just bought a 2006 325i SG/Blk 6MT Nav. to be my daily driver. I I wonder if anyone can tell how can I set the Nav screen to a certain default display upon start up? i.e. with the preset music split screen with small map screen.

Can't answer your nav question; but congrats on the car.

The older software would always start on the "main" screen, where you select where to go. If the last time you were in the car, you had it on Entertainment for the big window and the map for the assist window, holding the controller down (not pushing the button, I mean holding the controller in the down direction) for ~2 seconds will switch to the last Entertainment screen -- so it will get you where you want.

In fact, holding the controller for 2 seconds in any of the four directions will shortcut you to the last screen you left there. In other words, hold right to go to the last nav screen, left for the last ventilation settings screen (who ever actually uses that?), and up for the last phone screen.

The newer software doesn't force you to click "accept" on the disclaimer, and it automatically takes you to the last screen you left. If you can get your software updated, you'll have that. In the meantime, if you have software that you have to click "accept" and then go to the main menu, just hold the controller in the down direction for 2 secs.

Oh, and congrats on the car! You'll love the E90.
