So I just came back from the Dyno
I own a e92 325i (2.5L), which was ever since the day I have bought it lacking power, the first time I drove the car, it felt weird, underpowered, crappy. Not like 200+ hp at all.
I went to the dealer like 93934 times, with lots of problems, misfires and other stuff, eventually those were all fixed by replacing ignition coils, vanos solenoids and spark plugs myself out of my own pocket (BMW refused to change any of this, they said everything is fine). The car drove a little better, at least no more check engine light coming up now and then, yet still really felt underpowered. My friend drives a stock 2010 Honda civic, going WOT side by side with my car, he TOTALLY destroys me, for my car,it takes like 11 (ELEVEN) seconds from 0-100 km/h So today I finally thought, let's dyno it ! Unfortunately I don't have the graph as I gave the printed copy with my car straight to the dealer. But my spectacular dyno result is: 117 WHP ! I shit you not 117 ! We dynoed a total of SIX times, with 2 other cars in between to make sure the dyno is not messed up. So please, someone enlighten me, what in the hell is going on with my car, I have really lost hope with BMW service here in thailand, they are a totally useless bunch of idiots, it took them four tries and a total of 11 days to replace a valve cover gasket ! I'm really close to just putting a toyota 2jz in there and be done with it, although I really love the car the way it is, the current way it performs is unacceptable. Might have put this into the wrong sub-forum, can someone move it to the appropriate one ? |

http://www.esstuning.com/products/N5...-Software.html But it says for 3.0L, mine is non-us spec and is only 2.5L, so no idea if that would work. What would be the alternative to get my ecu read ? |

Anything blocking airflow to engine, how clean is the filter? Does the engine sound like it's going to die as you move up the rpm range or just sounds normal?

Unfortunately when I bought the car, that was already in there, so no idea if the stock one would be better. |

touche, I should have been more descriptive and direct as to what i was referring to, I kind of left what I was saying a little inadequate and open ended.
when you fix your car op,then read this thread ![]() ![]()

OP, you need to hook up a cable and pull any hidden codes. You could be like me and have a bad eccentric shaft senor, or bad vanos senors, or both. Also, I would check your MAF, oiled intakes can foul the sensor.

Just found this pretty nice tutorial for replacing: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697252 However, I don't want to take apart half the engine just to check if there's oil in the sensor, so it would be nice if the hidden codes show if this is in fact the culprit. |
