JB2 Question

I installed the JB2 pin out on my stock 07 335i last night. I drove it about 4 miles and felt the additional power but there is hesitation in 3rd gear (It's an auto) that resembled a previous bad plug and coil pack I changed. It did not exist before install and no codes or lights thrown after install. This morning I realized I missed the solenoid bypass portion of the install and just completed it. Have driven 10 miles since and noticed the same hesitation, around 3500rpm, under 60 - 70% throttle. If I floor it thru 1st, 2nd, & part of 3rd, the hesitation is is not noticeable. From what I've read, the ecu could take several days to fully adapt, but is this hesitation issue part of that adaption process or should it not be happening at all?

I tried asking Burger Tuning directly, but they wouldn't comment since I didn't purchase from them.

Any help is appreciated.

You installed a tuning box from 2008? There's your problem. That's not going to be as smooth and refined as a G5 JB4.

you probably have a misfire.

I have my jb2 somewhere. Didnt know there was a solenoid bypass part of the install. It was just two wires for me

How do I figure out with cylinder is misfiring when no warning lights? Can a code still be there?

It going to be very hard to diagnose it with

-no logs
-Old tune , not nearly as smooth as the new jb4 (could be normal)
-also could be damaged
- add to that the fact Burger tuning would not help since you did not buy it from them or from an authorized dealer

I would just get a jb4 instead.

Ok, thanks for the responses. My buddy with the same tune is going to double check I installed it correctly. If no change I'll remove it.
