Coding the DTC button

I have asked this in the UK section but haven't got a solid method, thats if its even possible.

I want to know if you can somehow code the car, so when you switch to DS mode, the DTC is turned on (normally you would press the button once).

Thanks

I would have to speculate that it is HIGHLY unlikely.

Coding is merely changing variables which are already programmed to the car. In other word, that function exists somewhere, somehow, in some car, in some market.

I've never heard anything resembling what you're describing (other than Sport+ on F30 cars, but that's different)

Hmm what about including it in a remap or something?

Hard to say it can be done but NO ONE has brought this forward and i feel its unlikely to be performed

Just a thought. If there's a DS signal on the shifter's connector that you can tap into, you could make a small circuit to listen for it and then toggle the DTC button.

I suppose it could be done like you say, but not by me, i don't know much about electronics and wouldn't want to experiment on my car!

What about in the ECU, surely there something there you can tap into, or even modify by a flash or tune or something?

Thanks for all the replies guys, i guess no one has done this before.

You have to look at the logic on the DTC button. Is it simply grounding out a pin or is on the bus and communicates with the DTC module? if it's the former it'd be pretty easy to run a wire from the sport microswitch in the shifter to the DTC button, if it's the later it's probably a pain

I would assume to say it's more than just a button. Only for the fact that you hold it down to turn TCS off completely.
