Walbro Inline Install Question

For those of you who have installed SteveAZ's stage 1 inline pump or similar inline pumps, which method did you use to connect the power cables to the new pump: 1. Bullet connector (no solder), 2. Bullet connector w/ solder or 3. Cut and splice wires ? I am leaning towards the bullet connector without solder but wanted to see what others have done. Any pros and/or cons to each install?

Used bullet connectors without solder and had no issues.

I soldered the wires directly to the OEM power wires and solder on the fuel pump.

Thanks for the input guys, still leaning towards the bullet clamp without soldering, really trying to make this difficult having two votes for everything!

For those that aren't very tech savvy...they tend to make less mistakes with this approach.

It's really all about what your skill level is and what you're comfortable with. I personally like the butt connectors and this is how I did Stage 1 / Option 3 installs. That way it could be returned to stock in a manner most were comfortable with.

For those that are soldering, a good crimp job is better than a bad solder job. A cold solder joint will fail without warning, then you're SOL if you do it at the factory pump. At least with a bad crimp on a bullet connector, your stock pump is still fully functional until you repair it.

Well I feel way more confident with the bullet connector after that response, thanks!
