Car wont start...no power only flashing lights
I drove the car home and it started fine....waited about 15 minutes and went to leave and the car wouldn't start. I put the key in and press the start button and the dash tries to come on then goes off, and the hazard light and interior lights just blink rapidly. I was reading this is a sign off a dead battery but worried it could be worse. Car is a 2011 with only 40k miles. I am also wondering what I should do as far as my jb4, as I have no power to clear codes before removing. does anyone know if bmw warranties the battery or is it a maintenance item?

From what I've read, it is very rare for dealerships to replace your battery but sometimes they do. Per my adviser, they will only replace the battery under warranty if it is found to be defective.

I have the same problem,OP...mine is a 2009 oem battery at 38,000 miles...I left my Cobb AP plugged for 2 days..biggest mistake(hard lesson learned)and drained my battery..all lights flashed on my dashboard upon start..can't even pull out my key fob from the ignition slot..have to jump start it with another car...and clear a bunch of codes on my Cobb..bought a battery charger and charge the car overnight...So far so good..The car starts like a dream

Follow up update...called my SA at the dealer....he said I'm lucky my battery is still working...usually a battery would only last 4yrs the most 5 yrs...if it dies on me again,it's time to change battery and have to register/code the battery if I have to change it myself..BTW they're charging $150 to register the battery...Hope this info helps.
