2AAF, 29E0, 2A2D - HPFP or LPFP?
Background:
I am the second owner of this vehicle. I have inherited most records from the previous owner. 2008 335i e90, 110k miles. Stock. HPFP was replaced @ 29,444 (13 51 7 613 933) HPFP was replaced @ 37,620 (13 51 7 613 933) LP fuel sensor replaced @ 37,620 (13 53 7 614 317) Injector campaign @ 45,494 - one injector replaced (13 53 7 585 261) Plugs most recently @ 83,041 Intake valve cleaning @ 91,605 I've had the car about 6 months. When I first got it I identified a leaking injector which was causing very rough starts. I replaced it with a used 261 injector to keep cost down, and this had resolved the very rough start. Current: I am now experiencing slightly rough cold starts, choppy part throttle acceleration, occasional limps, and occasional SES. The limp seems to be caused by 2A87 VANOS - I'll replace or clean those. 2AAF, 29E0, 2A2D keep coming back after code clears. I'm not sure if the fuel system codes are indicative of another HPFP failure, or weak LPFP, or LP sensor. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Last edited by mwahlert; 08-26-2014 at 10:35 AM.. |

Welcome back!
You could see if your LPFP is on its way out by checking output pressure. I believe it's suppose to put out 72psig max but will default to max if there is a sensor failure. Also, did you code the injector with INPA ? |
