New E92 325D 2008 owner, more power???
Okay so im new here, and you have probably heard it all before...
recently purchased a 325d m sport 2008 58, the 197bhp engine, manual box done 75k miles after hours reading and researchign various remap options i have become confused.. I want to get good power out of the 325d like most, something slightly quicker than a 330d be nice, i didnt go for the 330d as insurance was too much! £3k too much! silly difference in price, even the 320d was more expensive to insure.. anyway options... E-maps have qouted me 250 bhp and 480nm of torque DMS say they can get 285 bhp..< however many say online this is unrealistic another option i have heard of is changing the 325d injectors for 335d injectors and then remap? is this possible any info and opinions appreciated |

I've used E-maps before. Simon's a nice chap, and they used to sponsor our forum a few years back. As far as having a generic performance map flashed goes, I'd use them.
Their figure also sounds much more plausable, IMO. |

Personally I wouldn't bother wasting £500 a month EXTRA just for having a few BHP more on an already respectably pokey motor.
That's just mental. |

Id say spent a year or 2 just enjoying the 197bhp that you do have as thats more than enough poke in a rwd car for an 18 y/o, especially with winter ahead.
(When i was 18 i had 44bhp lol) Then get a remap and it will be like owning a new car again when your really starting to get bored. And saving yourself a £500 jump in premium Just my 2p worth |

It's still fucking loopy dude. What you're being asked to pay for remap is 200 quid more than what I pay annually! What are you paying at the moment for it in standard form? |

Would you rather not spend the money on a set of springs or other aesthetic mod that you won't get as raped on for insurance though? Nothing sets a car off like a nice set of rims and a subtle drop (IMO).
But anyway, if you want to remap it come hell or high water, I'd recommend Simon/e-Maps. |

haha, sorry for the long update, been busy and having had real time to sit down and write up about the map i had done,
so the car was mapped and dyno'd at 266.6bhp and without lookign at the graph printout i cant remember the torque figure but i know it was around the 450 mark. initial 1st gear pull and power felt quite similiar, although more power through the rev range, just lasted a little longer, 2nd gear was the same 3rd and 4th was where the massive change was, the power felt incredible, 3rd gear half throttle felt so responsive, really powerful, 35mph to 70 was instant such a strong power band from 2000rpm to 3500rpm, was a good push back in the seat. mpg hasnt been great tbh, felt the car was pumping to much fuel, was strugling to get 36mpg...but driving hard could get 34mpg, had the car sent back to mappers and had map slightly softend down, less torgue so less aggressive, power is still brilliant, just dont have the pure grunt. getting mpg figures around 40mpg now, still not 100% happy with those, but im not to bothered as im alot happeir with the power! overall very good and would advise anyone to get a 325d remappped |

As your in Herts any issues re your car let me know I'm the service manager for www.a1bnspecialist.co.uk/ By the way when you say mappers, returned to have the map toned down, who actually carried out the re map as returning somewhere to get things toned down isn't usually Simons bag as 9 times out of 10 he will visit you, though he does have access to rolling roads in the Midlands?
