Your experience of aftermarket HUs for app integration?
I'm looking at putting a new head unit in my E92, but I'm struggling to work out how well all the usual aftermarket brands integrate with iOS and androids. I'd love to be able to get my hands on all of them and compare them but obviously that is never going to happen.
Any of you guys running aftermarket HUs with app integration? Up to now it seems a single din Sony App remote HU may be the best as I could run a Nexus 7 as a display with it connected to the Sony yet also connect to my iPhone 5 for Bluetooth calls simultaneously. Alpine and pioneer look promising too, but I can't be bothered with mirror link. |

Given how many cables u need hdmi +lightningUSB +digital lightning adapter, it was not worth the cost for a software that was so unreliable. |

I have just found out about Apple Airplay and Android Auto.
These may be the game changers in the phone/car integration market. Both seem to be delayed though, and the head units look expensive. |

My alpine s920hd works with my iPhone 5 with the lightning cable or Bluetooth. I used the connects2 harness. It turns on and off when it's supposed to, and steering wheel controls work as they should.
