FRM?

I'm considering upgrading to LCI tail lights, How can I determine if I have the FRM3? BMW states the following:

"*For E92/93 3 Series vehicles produced from 3/2007 - 9/2009, the Footwell Module must be replaced for proper functionality. If the FRM has previously been replaced with an FRM3, it does not need to be replaced."

Also any opinions on these lights vs. the old style, I been looking at a lot of pics and they look really good in some but not so great in others.

Sorry one more question,
If I do upgrade and decide I want to go back to old style, does car have to be coded again?

Either take it out and read the label, hook it up to coding software and that will tell u, or search forums and there are lotsssss of threads on this question.

ah thanks! so obvious. I don't have coding software, so I will take a look.
Just didn't want to spend $300 for new FRM, if i didn't have to.

LCI Tail upgrade in the E92 is one of THE best things to do to the exterior

Definitely no need to update your FRM if you have FRM2 - all you would need to do is code out the Rear Warm/Cold Bulb Checks & Error Reporting.

My 09' has FRM2 & I have ALL LED exterior lights (including LCI Tails) - I simply coded out (Aktiv to Nicht Aktiv) all the pertinent checks & error reporting.

There are tons of threads about this - especially in the Coding Section of the forum if you do a Search...

And if you want to go back to non LED lights, you can simply swap back to your stockers, you won't even have to turn the checks & error reporting back On unless you really want to.

No it's automatically and when you close the car the stay on for a couple of seconds. I coded a frm3 to default on a 2006 and I noticed this. A frm2 the follow me home light go off when you lock the car.
If you have Inpa you can do an identification of the zusb.
You can also remove the trim to see what part number the frm is.
