Alpine Retrofit installed 06 E90 - Sounds Crap! do I need recode?

Hi all,

I got my alpine retrofit installed on my 06 e90 by BMW. and it sounds terrible.

Similar problems to what most people have outlined in previous threads.

1. Sounds is very boomy - there is too much bass / treible. I assume this is because no coding was done to hifi
2. Dong's and PDC are a little too loud for my liking
3. There is a odd issue where I can hear engine noise through the stereo - this only seems to happen for 30 seconds as I change sources.

My car has the following components
1. iDrive with Business Nav
2. Was base stero, now upgraded to Alpine retrofit
3. latest idrive module and latest bluetooth model for my 06 as they both ended up dieing a few months back

I guess the question I have is, is coding recommended and what should be done here? Should I do this myself or should I take it back to BMW since I paid them to install everything.

If I take it back I may need some advice as they dont seem to know much about coding and give me the comment that its "Germany" that do it all remotely.

Any help would be ace

Thanks

Its business idrive which is crap.
Hi-fi coding and logic 7 subs will improve the sound.

Hi Makkan00

Thanks for the tip, I just want to make sure I can actually code my Business Nav to hifi.

I will be looking to push the dealer to do this. afew people have mentioned there can be issues with bluetooth, PDC and bongs if hifi is set. Still reading into this.

Any more advice would be great

Thanks
