BC BR Coilovers E90 Problems PLEASE HELP

Hi, I am needing help guys !

I installed some BC BR coilovers to my BMW E90 330d M-Sport, now I have problems

Front :-

On the front, the passenger left is knocking badly ! I have researched this and its common that it does this for a short while but then goes on its own ?

Its now been nearly two weeks and 200 mile later, I'd say got worse rather than better,

When researched forum users said it could be the drop links getting loose but these are nice and tight as they should be

Any help on this would be good

Rear:-

The garage recommended I have the car setup with camber check and tracking etc so this has been done, but now I have a major problem on the rear….

I am running 10.5j rear wheels and now the wheels are scrubbing against the coil overs, the wheel is actually right up against it.

I put some 3mm spacers on as this is the max I could and its still doing it… I went back to the garage that did the camber and they've tried for many hours to put the camber back as it was but it will not got back……

Apparantly this is a common issue ??

The car is virtually undriveable at the moment…..

Any advise please

Thanks

Did you install this yourself or by some shop? If installation by some shop, bring it back to them as the installation could be incorrect. If you DIY, then get a professional suspension shop to install it for you. A lot of the noise come from incorrect installation.

was installed by a BMW specialist workshop, although I don't think they had experience of installing coilovers

What's your stiffness setting at front? When my car had Bc racing installed it was making all kinda sounds and the installer couldn't find the reason, until he adjusted the stiffness. It was on full stiff and it kept all kinda sounds, when he adjusted it to softer sounds went away.

What's your rear wheel offset? I have 10.5 et15 and there is plenty of room between wheel and shocks.

I had the front stiffness it as it come out of the box, but have and softened it and it seems to be worse the knocks.

The offset for the rear wheels is et38 E90 pre-lci

Thanks

This is weird. Maybe something at front isn't tight enough. As for rear there should be enough room even with 10.5 et38. I mean #Tee has 12.5 et27 which has 14mm less room inside + he has like -2.5 camber without issues. I think you should find a shop that is specialized to do these kinda things and maybe they can find out whats wrong.

+1

I have 11et28 in the rear and I have about an inch of clearance from the strut. I think something wasn't installed right. What did they set the camber and toe at?

Not sure, but will check the toe, but would have thought the to would make that much difference for the wheel to now be touching the coil

Well not exactly, the rears was fine until I have the camber and toe adjusted, the fronts was noisy when I collected it so drove it straight back and they had it again, they checked the setup and ball joints, bushes etc and said cannot find anything, I then searched the forum and saw this noise could go on its own so took the car and lets see……. but no difference.

Double check your top mount bolts with regards to the front knocking. Specifically the centre one holding the shock to the topmount.

The noise is when going over bumps, steering etc is fine

Wonder if I have a faulty strut on the passenger side ?

Yeah will do that, hard to tell if the noise is lower or higher (top mount) so worth double checking

After all, they did not put the rear bush in the top mount lol
