E91 330d auto pre LCI turbo boost issue

So today I was going up the slip road onto the motorway overtaking someone and half way up I could hear the turbo leaking. It sounded like there was a loud fan noise coming from underneath the dash

By the time I got off the motorway i had lost all power from the turbo and it was making a louder hissing noise. I've tried to add a video to show what I'm talking about but bear with me as this is the first time I've done it!

My question is should I have a look at it or is it too much of a fiddly job for a competent novice to have a go at?

I had a Vw passat with a similar issue and it turned out to be a pipe that was leading to the turbo that has split so I'm hoping it is the same this time. The only difference is that there is no black smoke coming from the exhaust like with the passat when it has the similar problem

Have had a look and taken off the black plastic hose leading to the turbo. There aren't any holes or breakages other than one of the bolts holding it down shearing off the plastic fastening (see photos)

I've booked it in with the local garage and using the vert for the time being so will see what they say. The button to open the rear window on the boot isn't working so will ask then to look at this at the same time.
