Switched from "old Performance" struts to EPK

I have had my car for nearly 5 years now and when I first got it the big craze was the BMW performance yellow springs and the struts that were suppose to match together. Tischer had a big sale which I think the cost of all 4 springs was less than $200. (or maybe it was the struts...I can't remember). Anyways, for the past 5 years I've been bouncing around in the "old" performance struts and springs. The vehicle felt like it was riding on rails compared to stock sports suspension. I only wished it was a little lowered. It was the exact height as stock sports. My wife hates riding in my car because it was too bouncy.
Over the years I have added M3 bits to the suspension and it made it even stiffer but more fun to drive cause it would do exactly what you wanted when driving.
However, the past year I've gotten tired of the rough drive and the hard bounces (I think I created a hernia on my dad once when he rode in my car and we hit a big dip). So I decided to get EPK but stayed with my current struts. Wow, what a big difference! The car feels so much more compliant with its ride. It's definitely softer but still athletic enough to make twisty turns very fun. My wife loves it now!
So for those of you out there trying to decided on good springs...don't want to spend the obscene $$ on coilovers but you want a spirited suspension but at the same time soft enough that it's comfortable then get EPK's. And a good strut! I hear koni yellows are great with EPK. I love my "old" performance struts which I have found out recently that it is very close to koni yellows. Here is a picture of my ride on recent EPK and new wheels!!

I have had Eibach Pro springs and the same BMW performance struts you mention for about 2 years now. Not a huge fan. Ordered the shorter bumpstops to see if they cure my bone-jarring bumps on big bumps.

I switched to M3 and Z4 bumpstop and that made a huge difference too.

Glad to hear it. I have those on order, supposed to be here in a month or so since they're backordered. Oh well.

Eibachs are about same spring rate as stock ZSP, but lower ride height. BMWPS are much stiffer as you know.

My Tischer "Box O' Struts" is still unopened in the garage.

I'm getting some inner tire wear on the front now and think it might be to the sagging stock sport springs.

Thanks for the review - this looks like the compromise that I'm looking for.

It sounds like you bought the first bmwps kit given your comments about pricing. I don't recall them ever running the yellow springs at a big discount.

IF you did buy the closeout kit, it comes with bumpstops that are taller than the ZSP bump stops on the standard sport package. If you used those along with shorter springs, it might have caused a rough ride. I stuck with ZSP ride height and springs, along with the bmwps bumps and the ride was okay, less roll and not bouncy.

I recently switched to the bmwps ver 2 dampers, which come with bump stops that are shorter than standard zsp, perhaps comparable in height to what you switched to. Along with the dampers, I changed springs to Dinan, which don't lower quite as much as EPK. Also did the Dinan rear shock mount. My best guess on spring rates (based on measurements I took before install and posts here on EPK and bmw yellows) are EPK < Dinan < BMW yellow springs. IMO the ride is very good. Perhaps EPK would have worked as well.
