Right in the owners manual!

As stated, 93 is the optimal fuel to put in your car. But 93 isn't offered in California so there is an exception for 91. I would put 93 in my car to always make it perform its best.

Wish we had 93 in Colorado but we don't. I put 91 in mine.

I'm sure your car is running like a top. Couldn't spend the extra $2 per fill-up?

You can use 91 without issues if you're running stock/minor bolt ons and don't go full boost regularly. Once you get a tuner/flash, you'll want to stick with 93 unless there's a 91 pump gas map you're loading. It's tricky out there cause some sell 91(No-Name Independents), 92 (Lukoil), 93(Most Brand Names like BP/Exxon/Shell), and 94(Sunoco) in NJ all under the "Premium/Ultimate/Platinum/Supreme/etc." branding.

It's closer to $4 extra per fill up. And while I could afford it, why? My car runs great, there is no knocking, and it has plenty of power.

Under what conditions would I need the higher octane? That's a serious question by the way.

Is $3-4 per fill up really worth risking your engine? Your car requires a minimum of 91 octane it's pretty clear in the manual, over time your car will start to knock due to the lower octane levels. You are saving a few bucks a week to possibly have to pay big in the future.
