PS2 Run flats??

For any of you who have had them, how are the michelin ps2 run flats? I need to replace my tires and am going to go with these. Let me know what you think of these tires and how good they are compared to the oem potenza rft's.

Thanks,
Alan

$250 front $360 for back.. Check tire rack, most chain tire stores will match the prices on tire rack as long as you add the price to the tire + shipping.

Thanks for the info, but we're looking for information on the tires, not the prices. Look at the first post.

Yeah, that's what I want to know too. I loved the PS2s on my e46 330Ci, I wish Tire Rack would conduct one of their tests on the run-flat version.

I know you want real info, but, being run-flats, they have to have stiff sidewalls. .. meaning less compliancy and harsher ride... probably not too different from the Bridgestone runflats.

If you swap out the run flats for another high performance tire, what do you do if you ever get a flat tire?

Get the Conti Comfort Kit

Available from Tire Rack.

I would love to see a test about the only three replacement run flats tires for the sports package (staggered) Bridgestone, Conti, and the PS@.

PS2 (ZP) have just been brought to market in the US, someone overseas will have to chime in.

If I recall correctly, Michelin uses a different solution for RFT than Shitstone does. I think they use a center core rather than stiffer sidewalls. However, I haven't seen any reviews or owner feedback. There may also be mounting issues with them. For some reason I thought you need a special compatible wheel.

PS/2 is a great tire. I would love it if they are compatible and get good reviews! Between Bridgestone and Continental, I absolutely prefer the Conti's!

You get the "mobility kit" from your local Dealership. Basically a can of fixaflat and compressed air to get you where you need to go without needing a spare.
I think it costs about $70 and it is very compact

The mobility kit is BMWs version of the Conti Comfort Kit.

They are both 12V compressors that can inflate the tire and they include a can of sealant.

You inject the sealant, inflate the tire and drive.

According to the Tire Rack it dows no gum up the inside of the tire the way a can of Fix A Flat does. Supposedly the sealant can be peeled from the inside of the tire, This, opf course, sould mean that the tire would need to be removed from the rim when it is repaired.

Same question, I was considering these also. Oddly when I look them up for my car on TireRack the "Orig. Equipment" image shows up next to the PS2s as well as the Potenzas.

You're probably thinking about the Michelin PAX system from a few years back. That had as much success in the end as Betamax...

I think the current generation of Michelin runflats don't require a special wheel, although I don't know what type of technology they use.

I just got the ps2 runflats. I have only had them for about 100 miles so i do not have enough info to really give a detailed review. They do however seem to grip better and ride better than the potenzas. I will continue to update you guys after I have driven on them a little more and see how well they perform in better weather.

My solution to all this would be to just get rid of the RFTs. Less weight, better handling, and cheaper.

Here in the UK Bridgestone RFT's have a really bad reputation on BMW's.
I've just changed to Michelin Primacy HP ZP's. These are latest RFT 's available I think.
Vast difference. No tramlining and big improvement in the ride.
I'm now happy with RFT's.

I had the Brickstones off within 1000 miles, the Pirelli run flats on our 120d lasted even less time and replaced them all with proper tyres.
When I got the 335i I expected to do the same, however the PS2 zero pressure is pretty damned good, first run flat I was happy to keep on the car, even at 13k miles it was still feeling good.

A big thumbs up from me, can't travel as far on them as other brands, but the ride comfort is far better, and the skittyness of the other run flats is not there either.
