lci to pre lci conversion?
I found a handful of threads about converting from pre lci to lci but nothing on doing the opposite. Is this possible? I personally like the pre lci front end better and would like to do it to my car, I'd imagine its possible by replacing the hood, bumper headlights, and maybe the fenders too, hoping someone can confirm this is doable.

I never liked the LCI hood, with that big V down the middle, and the lci side view mirrors, Wats up with that

What parts do you have? Frankly I'm not 100% sure yet of which parts I will or will not need.
....ok? I will, thanks for your pointless input. Quote:
Yeah I figured, do you mean just get new fog lights or will I need to mess with the wiring/plugs for them. |

Yea the mirrors are Ok, probably have better vision of the road. I wouldn't mind a set of LCI taillights. So will the headlights be plug and play? I got to imagine there is someone who wants the LCI upgrade, it would be the perfect trade off opportunity.

I'm hoping they are, I'm hoping everything is just a simple swap over, plug in, and ready to go. Hopefully someone here can confirm and offer some clarity on whether I can do this or not. Doesn't seem like anyone else has had this same desire to go from lci to pre lci in mind thus far.

on the sedan you can use the same headlights for lci/pre-lci so you just need a new hood/bumper

hood + bumper + grilles.
I just did it pre to post. Headlights are the same externally but not the same internally; you cannot swap the xenon internals and most headlights come as shells expecting you to swap the guts. So you can leave the headlights as-is unless you really want pre-LCI headlights (I'm sure you can find a raft of donors to swap you), then you will need pre-LCI headlights WITH all their internals intact. |

Why don't you just swap the mirrors (euro ones are cool) and may be upgrade the lci hood. IMO the lci headlights look better even the haligens. It may involve money though. If you really wanna do a swap I'm sure many will want to trade with you.

My e90 is black sorry :-/. I may just end up keeping the headlights then, I'm not sure if I have xenons or halogens though. The outer headlight is a nice white but the angel eyes and the inner lights are yellow, the inner lights also come on and off depending on what direction I'm turning, is this what they call the dimmers? The main reason I want to go pre lci is because the lci hood is hideous IMO with that big ass V coming down the middle. That pic of the white e92 datbimmer posted looks like an lci but the hood is flat, can anyone shed some light on this please. Also what bumper and fog lights is that? I actually love the way that front end looks. Another thing with the lci headlights is that I don't like how the turn signal part is clear when not on, I'd prefer that portion to be colored amber even when the lights aren't on but I'm not sure if there is an lci headlight upgrade that would accomplish that for me.

What exactly are adaptive xenons? I just don't like the lci headlight housing, if that makes sense. Do I have any other options for the headlight housing or shell per say, without having to go to pre lci headlights?

Adaptive headlights turn the lights in the same direction as your steering wheel. There really isn't any option other than going to pre-lci xenons. I mean, you could go with halogens but those aren't as bright.

At this point I've pretty much decided I'll only be doing the hood and bumper, I guess the only concern I have left is will the pre lci fog lights be plug and play? |
