rear differential fluid question.
I'm about to change my rear diff fluid tomorrow . I've been researching and it seems like my 07 n54 rwd uses 75w-90 weight. My question is how much? I saw a diy where the person used 2 liters or at least he only showed the 2 I don't know if he used both completely.
Thanks guys! |

Uses slightly less than 2 liters. Castrol SAF-XO is the OEM stuff by the way. Best of luck!

Is it possible to remove the diff cover and drain it that way? Seems like a better way to get all of the old oil out. Might need to replace a gasket but it couldn't cost that much.

It would be easier to just do the drain and refill twice. Drive the car hard before draining is recommended as well. Either way best of luck!

Dont stress too much about getting every drop out. I just changed a e90 with 200k on it and the fluid was original and looked perfect.
Changed my 335 fluid with 100k on it and was perfect looking Just suck whatever you can with a pump out and top it off with Redline 75w90 or the OEM XO fluid until it dribbles out when on flat ground |

Just plug your nose, diff fluid smells horrible. To get the old fluid out, you can use a fluid transfer pump, which works pretty well.
