Recently changed my oil about a month and a half ago...got the light to add 1qt of oil and i thought that was very weird and then yesterday got it again so i decided to let my car sit in my driveway and moved it over night and sure enough there was oil spots so im thinking it might be the valve cover gaskets todays my only day off so i was wondering if anyone knows a reliable mechanic who can get this fixed today or atleast by monday i go to work 4 days a week and go to school the other 3 so i need my car asap

Ive been to motorcepts with ny old bimmer but i forgot there prices was wondering if anyone knows any other shops in queens preferably thanks in advance!!

Valve cover is easy to check for leaks. Look at the bolts going around your engine, if you see oil around them then you have a bad valve cover.. If that is the case then order the parts online (dirt cheap that way) and have a mechanic do the install for you.

You said there was oil under your car. Was in under the engine bay or under where the oil pan is located? There is a chance your oil pan screw is stripped or not tightened correctly.

It's not the valve cover.. Check the drain plug. It's probably not torqued correctly or it might be stripped.

Change the washer with a crush type.

I had the same problem and the crush washer did the trick. Never reuse an oil washer - not worth the $2 you'll save!

Bro it's the washer that comes with the oil filter. The little metal washer that goes on the screw. It's like 5 cents.
