Pure stage 1 turbo intalled!!!
My wait is finally over! i got my car last night, first thing i noticed when i started it was the difference in sound. it is a lot deeper now. got on the road and for about 40 miles on my trip home i couldnt even gas it at all cause there was way to much traffic.
finally get to the road by my house where you can pin it in first and second cause there are never any cars around. i had the car on map 5 i am FBO but all i have in the tank is 91 oct right now. I did notice a slight loss in power down low but holy crap does it make it all worth it when you get to the upper rpms! it felt amazing to be able to have it wrapped out and still pulling to red line i got my flex fuel wires in yesterday so i am going to install them today and put 50% e85 in my car. i am really excited cause i could feel a pretty good diff even with 3 gallons of e85 on my stock turbo i cant even imagine what almost 8 gallons with my new turbo will feel like! hopefully this weekend i will be able to get together with some forum members and get me all setup with map 6. once i get some logs i will post them up and i plan on going to the track this friday so i will post up some slips. Oh and i would like to personally thank Chuck at Pure turbos for staying almost 2 hours after closing to wait for me and give me my car last night! thanks man! |

What "flex fuel wires" are you referring to? Are you upgrading your fuel lines? Are you planning on running e85 with stock fuel pumps? I would make sure you watch your lpfp pressures if you don't have another lpfp like SteveAZ's stage 1 kit, make sure you don't have consistent drops. Some stock systems can handle it, others struggle above e30.

I ran E50 on the stock fuel pump with no issues. Having said that, I went for steve's stage 1 kit before installing my pure turbo upgrade for peace of mind since i'm running 20psi and making much more power up top. Once you have the FF wires and are running E50 without issue map 6 will completely change your car. The higher boost targets in the higher RPM's really wakes the N55 up!

Curious if you happen to have any track times on your car with that pure stage 1 turbo? Your car seems to be setup similar to mine, and i'm currently pondering which turbo upgrade to get. |

There is data all over the place on this. Mostly in the main Pure thread. I know you've seen Darkhold's results....you commented shortly after? Quote:

I've seen his and another members. He doesn't have any actual track data from what I've seen, just an android app. Also, that's a 1 series with dct. Looking for e90 data. |

I assume real track trap speed should be around 118mph .. Theirs a member in x1 which is xdrive trapped 116.5 with pure .. So I assume e90 should get in 117-118s ...

Good stuff man. Maybe Newguy will help you out with map 6 but I'm not sure if he'll want to give away his custom settings lol
If you get your car dialed in I might be able to meet up with you guys Saturday night to do some pulls. I have a new flash for my car so I wouldn't mind testing it out on you two

I am using 15 satellites with external GPS receiver together with an android app to be correct. I might get a vbox soon. And my car is a 1 series with 8 speed zf automatic. And yes the times are not track times since we don't have quarter mile tracks over here unfortunately.

I think you might be pushing the limit of the LPFP at 50% Ethanol with the added power up top. I'd personally go for Steve's Stg 2, the extra cost is worth it for the ease of installation alone.

I have not done a whole lot of work on cars, I consider myself a novice, but I was able to install the stage 1 kit with relative ease. Even Steve says his stage 1 kit is plenty for running e85. I will admit that it does look even easier to just replace the whole bucket but you'll pay for it.

I agree, I would go E40 at the highest for now. It will still support anything the Pure can throw at it.
