Road Angel Gem+

Does anyone currently use one of these or had one in the past? I am considering purchasing one and would be grateful for anyone's experiences of one?

Had one of these for a year now in my M3 and now in my 330i. It is not as good as the Pogo alert, but road Angel bought out pogo and ditched it for the road angel Plus.

It loses sat signal to often for me, but this could be the placement i have mine in, but by christ it has more than saved my Licences on Countless times.

The laser bit at the front is a waste of time, but use if for the GPS cameras and especially the motorway average speed cameras it is brilliant. It works out your average speed over the whole set of cameras so you can see what your actual average speed is and adjust accordingly.

Would not be without mine, but do miss the Pogo Alert.

Thanks I often drive on unfamiliar roads and don't know what the speed limit is. What's it like on that aspect?

download the Cameralert app, first update is free and then 30 quid or so yearly subscription when you feel the need to. I don't drive anywhere without it on, saved my ass countless times, very accurate, upto date and had a massive user database is is updated daily with fixed cameras, traffic light cameras, traffic light & speed cameras in one, average speed cameras on motorways, variable speed limit cameras and most importantly mobile Park up sites for vans and police. let's you adjust settings for direction of travel, degrees of warning compared to direction of travel (so side roads), overspeed warnings in a camera zone and separately adjustable Pre warning times for fixed and mobile cameras

You can turn the map option off and it will not use any data as runs off GPS and the database stored on phone.

before buying anything I'd seriously recommend you try it... it is free.. I've been using for a good 2 years now

It's Great for that, and that is what i use it for. I do a lot of UK and Euro driving, so this is not an insurance i will NEVER get caught by the Feds with a handheld, but it knows where all the Fixed cameras are, and the places where the Mobile Vans usually sit.

It does cost and if you are a skinflint then go with the above freebie options, but i prefer to have something hardwired in my car that is always available and always uptodate and always ON!!!
