330dA N57 tuning

Since this information is pretty much impossible to find, I'm sharing my experiences and results. I decided quite early on that I'd like to optimize the power output of my diesel station wagon and set on a journey to find out who could do it and what I could gain. After months of searching, I finally settled on a tuner that had good experience from the newer N57 engine and decent pricing. The software/maps were custom built for my car here in Finland.

The car is a 2009 E91 LCI 330dA with the newer N57 engine, a configuration that rarely gets discussed in here. I guess the E9x/N57 combo is not on sale in NA. Upgrade wise, the only change that has been done to my car is a drop-in panel filter from Pipercross, otherwise it is bone stock with DPF still on.

In stock form the car achieved 245hp/566Nm or 183kW/417lbft.

Once completed, the car produced 308hp/651Nm or 230kW/480lbft.

Dyno charts below. If you have any questions, shoot away. Yes, it is a sweet, sweet upgrade.

Nice results for a stock car with the DPF still in place. Enjoy.

Excellent results with DPF still on. Make sure you monitor your EGT'S!

Ok... But what EGT is critical? What EGT is ok and what is to much?
I tried searching for this, but can not find a good answer.

I see in your signature, that you drive a 325D. Due to power difference in between the engines, i cannot comment what would be the EGT ranges in your car. With my 335D, with DPF on, during regens, it used to vary in between 680-730C. otherwise, it used to stay in between high 200C to high 300C.
