Group Buy: Vinyl Shadowline Window Trim Kit... Matte Black...

Hey guys, after speaking with Brad he has decided to hold a group buy for the vinyl window trim kits that he is selling. If we can get 10 people to sign up and pay for the kit, he is offering them for $90 shipped. These are matte black window trim kits, but they have a slight gloss to them. If anyone would like to participate you can add your name to the list below and send the payment via PayPal to Brad at "lylxxxdreemer@yahoo.com". Here are a few pics of cars with the vinyl installed...

If you are interested you can add your name to the list below along with the type of car that you have. You can prepay if you would like or wait until we see if we can get enough interest.

Don't shops only charge about 100$ to professionally do it? I can't imagine the vinyl has a cost of more than 20$ What exactly do you get for 90$?

Don't shoot the messenger... its just precut vinyl that they are selling, but good luck getting a shop to do that for $100 installed. If you can find one to sell it for less, i'm all ears.

I don't have any pics since i'm not selling it. I was interested in buying it so I PM'd the guys who were selling them and asked if they could offer a discount to us if we could get some buyers together. Its basically precut vinyl to fit your window trim so that you wouldn't have to sit there with a roll of vinyl and a razor blade, which would most likely not come out too great and take a ton of time.

Have you ever applied vinyl before? Its like applying a decal, but just on a bigger scale since you are covering your window trim. It just takes a spray bottle with some soapy water, a credit card, and some patience to smooth out any air bubbles that you get along the way.

By kit, they just mean that it covers all of your window trim. They are selling precut vinyl... what else would you call it?

I don't see why not... that seems to be the trend around here. Everyone buys mods during the time that they are waiting for their cars to arrive. We all have a sickness.

hmm.. i'm interested but the price is whats putting me off. with the precut vinyl, if i mess up (wrinkle, bubble, etc.) thats it, game over. 90 bucks down the drain. where as if i just keep playing around with the big roll i bought off ebay for 16 bucks, i have alot more room for error. i guess i'd like to see what the kit consists of before i purchase. anyway we could get pics of the precut vinyl?

That's what I was about, Don't see how it being precut will help. But if they're going to charge 90 dollars for 5$ worth of materials then it must. But it would be nice if someone would explain how.

How can't you see it being precut not helping? Its going to save you a ton of time. Try sitting there with a 100ft roll of vinyl that is 2 feet wide, but you only need less than 1" wide pieces that bend and curve with the profile of the windows. Its the same thing with window tint. Is it easier to install it with a roll of window tint or with precut pieces that are made for your windows and are ready to install?

Listen, its no secret how much vinyl costs, its cheap. Time and aggravation also has its own price, and you are basically paying for precut pieces so that you can save yourself a lot of time and cursing during the install. No one is trying to pull a scam here. If you think that having it precut wouldn't save you a lot of time than you should defnitely invest in a roll of vinyl and a razor blade. Have fun!

So your telling me that it's worth $80 to avoid rolling out 5 feet of vinyl onto the trim, taking scissors and cutting the rough outline within an inch of the trim, and then going about your business the same way you would with this kit?

Don't get me wrong, if there's something about this kit thats worth $80 I would probably buy it, but were talking about 5 minutes time save here.

You are right O-cha, just as you always are in all of your posts.

Please make this kit and sell it to me for less than they are so I can save myself some cash. Since it will only take 5 minutes you probably don't mind, right? I guess you have never worked with vinyl before. Even making overlays for your tail lights is a huge PITA if you have ever done it. Listen, i'm not selling a product here so whether or not you buy it, it makes no difference to me so i'm not going to try to justify this purchase for you. If you don't see this taking you a lot of time then you have either never done it before, or you don't want to be convinced otherwise. If its as easy as you think, you should definitely invest into a roll of vinyl and sell the kit for less.
