Official stats for 335i/d

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering where i can see official (or as close to official) stats for 0-60mph, 0-100mph, 30-70mph for the above models etc I'm also interested in finding out the difference in the standing 1/4 mile sprint between the 2 models.

Thanks in advance

best place would be the magazine review.

The official specs are no where near reality.

Carlos will have a good link for you I'm sure.

Although, for a slightly more objective opinion you could ask Chicken Little.

Agreeed definately, go with the independant figures.

i had a audi A5 D quatro out on demo before finally deciding on the 335D. the interesting thing was that on paper ( manufacturers figures ) the A5 was significantly faster than the 335D , to which trust me it definately isnt

They are mate, timed with Santa Pod's offical FIA Timing gear.

0-60, i ASSUME on my run i did 5.5-5.7 ish and 0-100 in high 12-low 13's

and a 1/4mile of 13.9@102... which could have been better..

A stock 335d WILL DO a mid 13 quarter.

A 335i WILL DO a low 13 sec quarter.

Carlos

on the road, there is nothing in it between 335d/335i

Carlos

Yes same as a S3 and also the 3.0 tdi coupe new audi, both book figures are quicker than the 335d, and they both much slower!

Incredible, still cant beleive it.

I do genuinely believe BMW have downgraded the stats for 335i/d. In the brochure and on the BMW website, the figure for 50-75mph is conveniently not provided for the 335d. I think many of us would suggest thats because it is quicker in this interval compared to the 335i. We will never know thanks to Bavarian concealment!!

I always thought that the 50-70 figure was not given because the 335D only comes in an auto gearbox and that the 50-70 stats are always based "in gear".

A fair point, but then the kickdown figure could be provided with a * besides it to denote the difference

One of the mags timed a DMS`d 335d at 0-60 in 5.5 secs and 0-100 in 12.7 secs but no mention of mid range times. I`m sure the Fandango could do 50-75 in a blink of an eye `tho.

Did'nt I read Nick's write up on his remapped 335D doing 0-60 in 4.8 secs?

That would be slow for the Fandango!

Reading back through old posts Nick says between 4.8 and 5.5 secs and 0-100 in 11.9 (thats very quick)

More interestingly `tho his times at the Santa pod in stock form (R/R`d 25 hp less than Carlos 310 hp) are near identical both @ 101 mph trap speeds and less than 0.1 secs between them over the 1/4 mile .

I read about Nick's on EvoTechnik

Extract:

We are ready to roll. Thumb the start button and the diesel block fired up straight away, settling to a steady idle. I prodded the throttle and straight away, even when the car was stationary, I could feel the difference. The throttle feels so much more alive.

On the move, MY GOD!!!! The car is totally transformed. The amount of power is mind boggling, let alone the torque! Estimated gains, 340BHP and 680Nm torque. The 335D pulls so hard in every gear that it defies believe. If I floor the throttle hard, DTC will flash even in 3rd; and today was 26 degrees and dry! Squeeze the throttle progressively and you literally blast past everything in sight. I tested with a stopwatch, 0-60 achieved in 4.8 sec, the speedometer whips from 80-120MPH in a few seconds, and it continues to pull. The re-map has also removed the top speed limiter, so the 335D should easily see 160+MPH. TBH, the in gear acceleration feels as quick as the E60 M5 I drove not long ago.

Another top mod in the bag! Big thumbs up to Roy Videos to come soon.

Spooky, I could write the same about mine NOW

Sorry, back on topic and official times ................
