RMPs are very jumpy at idle...

i posted data log of what is going on but for the first 30 seconds or so i get a very jumpy idle. It doesn't matter if the car is warm or cold, it does this every time I start the car but it is worse and lasts longer when the car is cold.

Any ideas?

What mods do you have?

Have you had your DME updated? I had the long crank issue, and the DME update cured it. I've heard the update has also cured the similar issues you're seeing.

I'm on 97V0B. I don't have any issues with long cranks.
As for mods I have dp's, intercooler, intake, charge pipe and cobb running map stage2+ sport. I also started noticing this after having the vanos recall done but I can't imagine they are related.

I just had the VANOS recall done last week also. Haven't noticed any difference. In your case though, I think the DP's have been known to cause some ornery behavior with the N55. Have you tried flashing back to stock to see if the issue remains?

I havnt tried flashing back to stock but I'll give that a try. I have had the cobb and dp installed for a few weeks and only noticed the issue in the past few days.

Any chance this could be plug related? I just got a ses light and it's saying misfire on cyl 4.. Don't think it's related but I thing a new set if plugs might be in order...

If anyone looked, can you tell anything from the log I posted or do I need to monitor more sensors?

Move the number 4 coil to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the coil. If it does, then you need a coil. If it stays on 4, then it's the plug.

Thanks guys. Got new plugs and hopefully get the installed when I get back home on Friday. If the problem persists I'll go ahead and order a new coil pack for that cylinder.
