Corsa axle-back fitment on sedan, or other options?
I've been researching some exhaust options for my 2011 335i xDrive sedan. I noticed that exhausts that will fit the sedan w/xDrive and N55 don't seem to pop up too often.
I'm looking for a refined setup for noise. I don't want the exhaust to get cut up too much or anything like that so I'm looking for basically a pre-packaged solution. I've seen some people here pick up some mufflers from Magnaflow or Borla, but the none of the posts I've found include part numbers. Here's what I've found so far:
Anyway, I'm thinking the Corsa axle-back looks like it might be my top choice, but I'm wondering: Why do some sites say it fits coupes only but others specify that it'll work with the sedan too? I've emailed Corsa to see what the deal is, but I thought I'd check here and see if anyone has any firsthand experience or has seen it on a sedan in person and can comment. Thanks! Edit: For anyone who might be curious, I likely won't buy until the holidays come about since I'm hoping for a deal.

Have you did the downpipe and cat deletes in the midpipe or are you not running a tune? Most people are happy with stock exhaust and catless DP's. You can also do a PE mod on the exhaust. Basically you cut the mufflers open and cover the perforations. PE sound for a fraction of the price. I plan on doing this in the winter or next spring.

I thought about it, but I didn't want to mess with the OEM muffler. I want to keep it intact just in case I want to revert to stock. Thanks for the info though!

Just heard back from Corsa via email - They mentioned the axle-back has not been verified for fitment on the sedan but confirmed that part #14861, the full catback, will fit. The price for the full catback though is high enough that I'd rather just get the BMW performance exhaust.
I emailed Turner Motorsports to see what their take on it is since their site says the axle-back will fit an 335i xDrive sedan w/N55. I'll report back once I learn more. I figure this thread is bound to come up again sometime via search or something since someone might want to know this info later on.

Just wanted to report back for anyone who might be curious and so the info is here if someone further down the road does a search:
I pointed out to Corsa a video on their YouTube profile that shows the axle-back installed on a sedan, but it's still not clear if it will work for xDrive sedans. I'm not sure if the exhaust piping is much different at the point where their axle-back would hook up, but Corsa responded by saying that it would probably fit but they can't guarantee overall fit and finish and sound quality, which is fair. So if I want to be 100% sure on this, it looks like I'll need to go with BMW PE, Corsa Catback, or VRSF catback then. I'll just wait and see what comes up this holiday season as far as deals go. Hopefully something nice will come up! Edit 10/20/2014: I found a thread in the XI forum where a vendor-who-shall-not-be-named (was banned) made the statement that "To confirm, all axle back (muffler) systems do fit both the 335i/xi models. ..." I won't speculate on why the vendor was banned, but this general statement was echoed and agreed to by others too. That said, I think I'll end up getting the Corsa axle-back since all I want is a bit more noise and I'd rather not swap out too many parts. Btw, the video I'm referencing is this one:

what did you end up purchasing? I am having the same debate, its hard finding an exhaust for n55 xdrive and it appears VRSF doesnt have an estimated timeline of when they will be restocking there exhaust system.

I ended up not purchasing anything. I had some other expenses come up that took higher priority. I don't know when I'll get an exhaust, but from what I could tell, the Corsa Axle-Back should fit an N55 sedan but the exhaust tips might stick out a bit further since it was made originally for just the coupes. I guess the coupe's exhaust tips stick out further than a sedan's.
