Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT

I have these tires on a 335 conv. 7,000 miles and the fronts are starting to cup. They also run rough for the first 10 or so miles. Has anyone had any luck with BMW in getting these replaced. This is a April 07 build. Boy I hate these tires. The car is less than a year old.

I had Potenzas as well and they were rough (but had great road feel).

Have moved to Pirelli P zero non rfts. Much better ride, but lesser road feel. Over all I am happy.

My sales rep. told me that they have had issues with the Potenzas, great handling, etc. but issues with the ride in regards to cupping!

Good luck! If you complain enough you should get something in the end.

Cheers,

Same thing happened to my fronts. Had all four replaced under warranty a couple of months ago. It is a known issue.

I had the Pirelli RFTs on my last 325 and i absolutely hated them. Worst tires Ive ever owned on a car. I am much happier with the Bridgestones on my 335.

Are you sure they aren't the Turanza tires? If so, BMW has put out a TSB (below) and if you get to the dealer before 10,000 miles on your car, they are supposed to replace them free of charge. After 10K, it's 50/50.

100% They are Potenza's. This is a 335I with sport package.

They probably run rough initially because they're cold. Summer tires turn to bricks in the winter, and have to warm up to be useful.
