I downloaded it today.. For some reason my vin works and my car didn't even had idrive from the factory.. The VIN of car my headunit came out of did not work either. Weird. I got the updated copy if you like though.

Yeah i have tried and it tells me my vin is incorrect, I have the software update option in the settings.

Oh yea? Hope it works for my car! Maybe I should just have the dealer try it- since it's been there for the last week anyway.

The BMW Group allows part of the vehicle software to be updated, to enable compatibility of the latest tested Bluetooth or USB devices in the vehicle. This offer is available for selected vehicles manufactured after March 2010.

I just used a vin i got off of eBay and it let me into the site to download the upgrade =)

Well mine was manufactured in July 2011 so I don't see why it wouldn't work....

Hello all. I am having the same issue. My car was manufactured in 02/2011. My software versions are: MEDIA MX-002.005.025 and TELEPHONE MX-002.005.025

I should be able to upgrade a version or two I think. Any thoughts?

Their update site has been down for over a month, I know because that's how long I've been checking and getting the same error. I even called BMWNA back in late Oct and they said they knew about the issue and that it would be resolved by months end. Already a week into Nov and it's still not working. They also said there was a new update for iOS 8 support, but honestly I won't believe it until I see it... which seems like seeing it may be a while since there site is jacked the F up.

Hey tag- oh god, horrendous Bluetooth support for iOS8- damn system keeps forgetting my phone after a few dozen songs. I've just given up and play it via USB.
