Double damn it just had mine done under warranty. But at least I know where to get it done! Any estimate of price when you get it down?

For now around half of what the dealer charges. And I have 0 markup in parts as well, this is where everyone else makes a margin too. I'm looking for a car that is local-ish where I can have extra time with the car to document a diy write up to share with the community and so I can have some pictures on record for myself. (I did a full write up on the N54 - linked below). After that depending on some factors maybe able to move into offering a mobile service for everyone in the state of Florida.

Thanks Williams, very appreciated!
I'm looking for anyone within 3-4 hours of central Florida that would be willing to let me have their car for the weekend for a full cbu removal. Please pm text email so we can discuss specifics. If your outside this radus, but within florida, and interested, hit me up. We might be able to work something out - no harm in asking. |

Thanks for the link to the other thread Nushibo, apperciate it. I didn't see your other post until just now. Glad you were able to have it covered under warranty. I'm sure there will be some interested people, there's no rush to get someone in within a certian amount of time, just posting it up.

The intake itself I can hot tank and clean extensively by hand with various long brushes and engine block pipe cleaners. If ultrasonic cleaning is what you are interested in I can have that service done via a consultant. I can also start up manifold exchange if there's enough interest.. I.e. have a core that's ultrasonic cleaned and if we do yours just swap intakes. In the downtime between cars I will have your intake core cleaned and waiting for the next customer in the line.

I can also start a program where I ship intakes in and out to you for clients that are out of state. If there is enough interest for something like this I am open to it.

Taibanl - I have no set time frame. If you want to schedule something for when you return (as long as its reasonable) we can work something out.

My car has been at the dealer for one week now getting the CBU removal, but it's good to know that people are freelancing it. I hope you'll stay in business as I'm sure there will be demand for this type of service in the future. I've only got a few month left on the warranty and what about after that, it's all DIY or looking for people like yourself. So I'm sure you'll get your business going, it's just a matter of time. Good luck.

I'm in the Pensacola area, looks like you have plenty of interest but my warranty runs out in March so if it pops up I'll be giving you a call. My gas mileage isn't amazing right now but I also hammer the shit out of her 70 miles a day, we'll see.
