Sorry to thread jack but the long pipe and short pipe are both compatible with the 2008 335 xi am I correct?

Long version fits all years, correct.

Stick with the long version, it gets rid of the flimsy rubber elbow on the 07-08. Also if you are running methanol get the long version anyway because it pushes the methanol nozzles further back which aids in atomization.
