DDE Replacements
So I've been having the CBU issues since the beginning of the year, and I thought it was finally over after my DDE was replaced but unfortunately it is not over. I got a CEL within 400kms of getting the replacement DDE.
I have a feeling that the dealer didn't use the right DDE, so I want to compare what version I have vs. to what you have. If you have had your DDE replaced and did not get the CEL after please post the part number shows up on your invoice? I have part number 13 61 8 572 131 http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/13618572131 Last edited by dzlmoose; 10-27-2014 at 03:24 PM.. |

I'll start this thread with a monkey wrench.
13-61-8-572-479. According to realoem its for an X5 4000 km without any issues. I just got the Bluetooth adapter so I'll check for shadow codes. |

yeah I was referring to dzlmoose. I guess its good that the x5d dde works, they must have had to reflash it with a 335d program or it would be tripping out about not having a transfer case or front drive, along with probably some other stuff
not CBU, but the injector failure codes which seem to be associated with CBU and the bad DDE |

I have asked this question before and am wondering if there is a physical difference (i.e. solder joint or something) with the different DDE versions and if not, I am wondering why simple software updates to the existing DDEs didn't fix the issues, with total replacement being necessary.

Hey PR, relax man JR has not touched my car. I know LennTech is paying for you to promote his product man, but I didn't know he was paying you to bad mouth the competition, (sorry that's an insult to JR anyone with a brain knows that LennTech is not a viable option).

I did mine fairly recently, moose. I'll see if it references a part number on the ticket.

BTW Lenny is a very professional guy like JR and few others that dont bad mouth others, in fact he always warned me to be carefull so thats a true friend. So when some people ask me where to send their ECUs I have them reason if you live near Canada go for JR if you live south send it to Lenny I have told various people in the forum that when they PM me. In your case go to JR since you're closer, as far as FLASHES I cannot tell you which is better JR or RENNtech. Jr has been able to get Guinea Pigs unlike RENNtech which developed a flash with one car. Scungilly racing is currently using RENNtech's flash they had Ecotunes which was very good but RAN to rich and to much Diesel smoke came out thats why he decided to go the RENNtech flash which run a bit more leaner and NO smoke hardly. So I hope this information can be taken in good faith and you can understand my persona, have a great day, its 87 degrees Fahrenheit here in Puerto Rico and Clear blue skies , shit I might to the beach wtf!

Ok no kick backs(thats cash I believe) let me explain to you if you may, when you develope a TRUSTWORTHY relationship(like Tdi did with Ecotune) with any person in life its called FREE in this case Lenny hooked me up with the code out after nagging him for about a yr(since he had ready for SOMEONE to come to do it), no one wanted to do it. We talk alot about cars I have gone to RENNtech to get my flash he has come to Puerto Rico and done bench flashes and stayed at my house. I know his wife and kids and he and I happened to become good friends.
Im sorry you cant get these type relationships like I do I guess Im a better person conducting myself than you are LOL Unfortunately I dont have any agreements with the list you mention, shit I wish I could!! Amsoil- Im a member so I get the discount members get Wagner- I paid the same price everyone has plus I have the owners personal number Dynojet- no brainer here I do my runs and I dont get discounts Cyba-Bought the scoops dont get anything but to praise it works fine on my car Red Acessories- whatever on that one LOL
