Help - horizon LED issue
So I'm hoping it's something I'm doing wrong but here's the problem...
Cars an E93 pre LCI Purchased the H8 40w gold LEDs and have just been trying to put them in. They go in fine but they will not lock in place. No matter what way I put them in and turn to lock them, they are still loose in the fitting. The existing H8 bulbs lock fine an have a dimple below one of the three tabs that's seems to aid locking in place. Am I doing something wrong here. I've tried aligning the lugs in all positions but without any luck?? |

Did you notice that one of the retaining tabs is smaller than the other two? They need to match up between bulb and holder, if that makes sense?
I've literally just fitted mine this morning and they are fine. |

Yep, I've tried it with the smaller tab in all three positions just to make sure I wasn't being daft, but each time I do and try and lock it in place it's still loose.
Tried again and I still can't get them to lock in place tight, they're in, but they are not exactly what I'd call secure... am I just expecting too much compared to the way the standard bulbs lock in place? I did swap the rubber seal over from the original bulbs as it was thicker than on the LED's this helped a little Last edited by tobeski; 11-01-2014 at 11:22 AM.. |

Have you tried speaking (Emailing) Zain at Horizon? I find him really very very helpful, and i am sure if there is a fix he will know!

Still got the problem but ended up living with it for now... they've not fallen out so far!?!
I emailed Zain and he's been helpful, he suggested doubling up the rubber seals using the ones from the original bulbs but i've not had time to have another look to see if this will work. |

It's a bit poor I think that after shelling out all that on LEDs, they don't fit and they expect you to modify something that's supposed to fit. If they're not sealed, it's only a matter of time before they're damp, dirty and because the lens wont be clean, a waste of money because they'll look dull.

I had a world of issues trying to fit these to my e91. Just couldn't get them to lock in at all.
Zain has exchanged them for the smaller silver version, but not had chance to test the fitting as (as per my other thread) my car is about to be repaired after I was rear-ended by a wally. |
