My car shut off while coming to a stop at 10mph

Guys i've been having problems with my car lately not sure exactly what but just now I was slowing down to a stop sign and it just shut off at 10mph. Steering wheel locked couldnt gas, couldnt take the key out. After trying several times 15 seconds later It turned back on. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

*"the connector for the positive battery cable connector and the corresponding terminal on the fuse box may degrade over time," which can eventually lead to a break in the electrical connection and a loss of power in the vehicle. If the car loses power, the engine can stall, which could possibly lead to a crash."

Could my car be part of this eletrical problem recall thing? It says 07-11. Mine is made in Dec of 11

You have to download the jb4 interface. It's somewhere on the n54tech forum. Do you use spacers between your o2's and down pipe?

Had a recall about a wire that runs to the battery. You should check your local BMW dealership.

A lot of people have been trying out spacers or "mini-cats" on cat less down pipes (myself included) in order to keep away that check engine light for a while longer. It works pretty well too as long as you only put one in between the rear O2 sensor and the dp. If you put one between the pre-cat O2 sensor and the dp, which a lot of people have done, it causes idle issues and intermittent stalling due to the O2 responding incorrectly. Unfortunately if a jb4 is set to auto clear it'll clear the specific code it throws (p0133 or p2cf4), which points to a fault in the pre-cat O2

Wow this is ridiculous, car is shutting off at least 3x a day now, and every time I stop now it feels like it's about to stall. Rpm tachometer wiggles up and down and car dies out. It literally stalls on me lol. Calling BMW tomorrow!!!!

Do you still have the issue when the JB4 is uninstalled?

If it was a cable aka electrical you'd have other problems besides just shutting down. How's your idle? Check your vacuum lines (most likely cause imo) and fuel pressure too... I would suggest bringing it to an indy shop, might be something simple.. Good luck

I didn't have this problem before the Jb4 was installed. However I put it on Map 0 yesterday with no e85 and car had the same issues. I think your right it most likely may be a vacuum line problem or maybe need to update DME.

AFAIK, those vacuum line issues are specific to N54s. I may be wrong on that though.

I don't know how to check the codes. What software or program do I have to download?

Oh wow guys I think I figured it out. I've tried plugging back in my Golf Tee Mod Vacuum Line while I had my muffler delete and the car still kept turning off. Now I just tried re-connecting the vacuum line with my stock mufflers back on and my car hasn't turned off on me or jerk while idle. So happy though, I think this fixed it. For now
