Adelaide Dyno Day

Yo,

On the 15th of November (Saturday week) the BMW Driver's Club of SA is hosting a Dyno Day at Graham West workshop on Marion Road.
https://www.facebook.com/events/370920003075310/

It's gonna be a great event with a variety of models new and old attending, a few ///M models and what not; as well as a sausage sizzle. I'm only going to be there to basically do the first run +10 mins as it'll make me late for work but I don't want to miss it.
It's the perfect opportunity to come and hang out with the members and join up. Cost for members is $30 for 2WD and $40 for AWD, non members is an additional $10.

Fingers crossed this time around the most powerful car there isn't a VU SS work ute because one of the member's Beemer died that morning.

Ahh must be an invite only event. I'll copy paste the details:

BMWDCSA Members Dyno Day at Graham West Workshop. Limited spots available so get in quick.
Date: November 15th
Time 8.00 am to 8.30 for registration.
Current financial members special price if paid by 12th of November, $30 for 2WD or $40 for 4WD.
Pay to club account (Westpac Bank)
Normal price $40 for 2WD or $50 for 4WD.
Don’t forget BBQ lunch and soft drinks for members and guests.
See you all there.

It'll probably finish up around midday I reckon. That's around the time the last one wrapped up (so I've been told, I didn't attend).

That's the photo one of the other committee members put up on the event page. Not sure if it's the actual workshop. I'll let you all know tomorrow though!

Had a fantastic turnout. As I had to leave by 9am I couldn't really enjoy it all but I'll update with some figures once I have them.
We had a comp for estimated figures and I'm quietly confident about my chances of winning as I guessed 185kw (stock as).
It was a really awesome experience riding shotgun for a Dyno run as I had never done that before. The car didn't like the front wheels not spinning so I had every warning under the sun but a restart sorted it all out.
Once a few cosmetic things are done on my car I'm definitely going to go JB4, then some supporting mods and maintenance before chasing more power.

The only slight issues were that doing a pull in 4th gear was a little tricky for him because under 5000rpm the car wanted to kick down so WOT was tricky to achieve whilst under 5000rpm. This is also why the AFR starts off so lean. He felt that maybe the way that the sensor detects under partial throttle must be causing the lean reading as he doesn't believe that it would really be that lean.
