Hey guys need your help here. Just got my car back with some new additions.
VTT Stg 2's 7inch FMIC SteveAZ's Stg 2 Walboro 450 upgrade. I tried flashing tonight for 6 hours with no luck. I used a BT cable and the [Admin Notified] application to try and read my ECU but it took more than 2 hours each try and Terry stated something was wrong so I aborted the read after 2 hours. Tried twice and yes I had a battery tender connected. Volts read at 13.78. Protocol : K Line Software : OI8AOS Variant index : 33 Voltage 13-13.78 Modular preset : true Did some research and found some stating that the 2007 K line ecu's are quite picky. Tried total of 3 times. 2 times : Intel i7 w/16gb ram (fast enough so confused here) 1 time : i5 2gb. Ram Followed the DIY and still not working. Yes JB4 is on map 0. Help please! Want to flash pump flash for daily and e85 flash right before dyno so I can get some info and numbers out to you guys on these VTT's!

Are you getting any error messages at all? KLines are picky. There are two versions of the flashing software. Try Terry's version if you haven't already as it tends to work a little better with KLines.

If you want to use Terry's version you need to make sure you have the latest .Net loaded on your computer. If not, update it by downloading .NET which IIRC is 4.5.
Another than you can do is skip the read as you can always recover your ECU from WinKFP. If you need help with downloading the tools, email me. You'll also need a K+DCAN cable which I would recommend for anyone with K-LINE purchase prior to attempting to flash with BB flash. |

The .net framework files should be in the Windows update. It looks like you have Win7 so you should have 3.5 or later. With Terry's version (and both versions imo), change the compatibility to run in Windows XP SP2 mode and run as admin. If push comes to shove, find a laptop with WinXP on it and give it a try.
The software is great and free but it is still so buggy :/ |

I agree. My laptop will not flash my k-line (despite the fact it read it although it took 3hrs). My son's $350 3yr old entry level AMD flashes it ever time in 1:35 sec or faster.

Doesn't seem to me like the problem is your laptop. Do you have a battery charger connected when attempting to do the read? If not you'll never get a complete read and it'll take about 2 hours do to voltage.
Did you download both the BB software and the BMS software? You can't use the BMS software without the BB software.

Is there any stable solution for using BBFlash?
From what I've gathered a few people have bricked their DME using it and a lot of people have slow flash times. It would be nice to be able to use a laptop for flashing along with a VM containing ISTA/D and the standard tools. An all-in-one BMW software tool. |

Been reading up. Some say the Kline first read can take up to 6 hours?! Went over 2 hours and gave up for the night, will try again tomorrow morning with a different AMD laptop
