I swear....
That the stereo system and speakers in my wife's Corsa 1.2 Active is better than my Pro radio with added tweeters. Better bass, cleaner sound grrrr!

Not surprising matey, you have the most basic BMW sound system which runs the speakers off the head unit (I'm assuming you have the Base audio system as you had to add tweeters..HiFi and Logic7 come with tweeters as standard). Your subs are only 6.5" as well so struggle to fart, let alone produce any bass
What I highly recommend is a properly amped setup and some new speakers! As you have the Base audio your best bet is the BMW Apline upgrade, which will add another dimension to your sounds, or you can go all out and do what I've done and install something like a JL XD600/6 amp and upgrade all your speakers as well. Whichever route you take its not cheap though as unfortunately the Base stereo isn't a great starting block for upgrades.

at times I feel like BMW is on this mission and trying to win who can install the worse stereo system in their lineup Some of the BMW loaners that I drove make me wonder if BMW should still be qualified as a premium auto maker LOL

I find that Nissan offers the best audio systems. The bose systems in my nissan and my mother's Infiniti blows away the Bose system in my dad's Benz

It designed by BMW to get people to pay the dollars for premium systems. Typically the kinds of customers BMW think they have, are loyal, wealthy and will therefore pay extra. Reality is that customers don't know that the base system is cack until it's too late which is why there are sooo many with base systems out there.

I have logic 7. Its awsome. Probably up there with the best sound systems i have heard in a car. It was allot of money to spec. I searched for a car with it or else i would not buy. It worked out spending £500 over budget. Way better than spending £1000's on upgrading later.

Coming from a Corsa VXR to an E92 I would say the sound system is much better in the bm. Corsa never had any subs as standard but then again it was the standard sound system. So standard v standard I would still say the E92 is much better than the corsa.
Logic 7 retrofit will have cost me about £600. Cant comment on quality yet as I still need to code the head unit to it but I do hear good things from other people. For sheer mid-bass you cant beat my 10 year old fiesta with 2 pairs of HSK 165 XLs with 200 watts RMS being fed to each. The punchy bass causes the rear view mirror to slide out of its clips every now and again lol. Shame they wont fit into the doors of the E92. |
