New JB4!! Let's talk supporting mods

Just got my JB4 and a friend is recommending to just run map 1 for now. That's what I'm planning to do, but what should be my next mods, downpipes or a charge pipe. Im leaning forwards a charge pipe so the oem dosnt grenade on me. But if I do do I need to get a new bov also? What do you guys reccomend. I was looking at a vsrf CP.

if you want to be safe, get the charge pipe. you can get the vrsf one that uses stock diverter valves if you don't want to buy the bov

but then the stock diverter valves will leak under increased boost eventually, so you may want a bov

but the cp doesn't make any real power... you need downpipes for that. but getting those before the cp could cause your stock cp to pop even sooner.

you don't need an intercooler unless you really need consistant power for multiple pulls in a row. but while you're installing downpipes, you're down there anyways, what's another hour...

and so goes the life of a car enthusiast

Sounds like your on the right path. Just go with whatever you feel comfortable with.

CP stock DV
or
CP with BOV

Since your in CO at probably high elevation, I'd consider an FMIC before downpipes as you will be over turning your turbo's a lot harder to hit targets and as a result your intake temps will be considerably higher then normal.

Example of how just a few simple mods + e85 will make good power. E85 is easily the best mod you can do with a JB4.

I understand that, I'm just wondering if I'll be able to not crack my charge pipe running that high of boost.

Downpipes are overrated I run low 12’s with stock exhaust and stock intake.
DP will make your car stink, be loud or raspy, throw check engine lights, fail smog (if applicable)

Do charge pipe first with OEM DV/BOV (you can always upgrade to OEM style forged BOV later on)

then do intercooler

then Meth injection or upgraded LPFP to run E50-E60

BTW, I found out the hard way that you can drive the car with a broken charge pipe. Just stay light on the throttle and it runs just fine.

Get a CP , DP, Intercooler, FMIC, DCI in that order
Lots of good CP out there ER and VRSF are the most popular ( cant go wrong with either one)

What is an oem style forged bov? Stronger then oem? And price?

30whp gain on a lightly modified setup. More gain as you have more mods. It's up to you if its worth it or not.
