Hi guys
Upon a cold startup I noticed a rough idle so I pulled out my bmwhat app and checked for any errors. What came up was 4593 error ( smooth operation on 2nd cyl issue) . My car is 2011 with 40k CPO

Now I don't have the actual CEL yet but the code is there when I scan . Even after clearing it comes back. Is this a hidden code or not really an error?

Now I would like to bring my car to a dealer who worked on these engines and would perform a complete CBU cleaning job ( si b 11 03 14 lists error 4593) as well as check other things like injectors and so on not just the minimum. Any recommendations?

Btw I bought my car from Keeler in Albany but their services dept forgot to update my nav / sold a car with a broken USB port ( don't really need it yet since I don't have an iPhone) and in general very hard to get to any SA (for days no returned calls) .

If the SES/CEL never came on, no dealer will perform a warranty CBU cleaning. You will need to wait until it illuminates. Do not reset anything once it comes on. Actual injector issues are rare. Early on dealers were replacing injectors for issues that was actually caused by CBU. Some early models also needed a replacement DDE (probably not for a 2011).

At 53K miles I had my CBU taken care of by Flemington in NJ (where I purchased the car). No injectors have ever been replaced on my car. At least for me the experience was very good. Everything was put back together properly (you cannot tell it was worked on by just looking at it). We've put on 2500 miles since the cleaning and so far the car still runs perfectly and the lost MPG has returned.

I used to drive 150 miles from syracuse to go to keeler
