Turbo Replacement Question
Wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with dealers in the eastern mass area performing the turbo recall?
just ticked over 69k miles -- and although I dont need them replaced yet, just trying to get my ducks in row if possible so im not frantic when/if it happens. I am tuned, w/ downpipes and other mods which i can take off but would LOVE to keep on if possible (doesnt seem likely). Any feedback or anything would be great! thanks. Ryan

Aside from my DCI and cat-back, I have no other bolt-ons...and BMW of Warwick gave me no issues when I brought the car in for wastegate rattle for the 2nd time (at just under 82k miles.....when the recall runs out) and replaced my turbos and had the car back to me 2 days later.
So if you're willing to drive a bit, might be worth your while to check them out. My service advisor, whom I highly recommend, is Lauren Avedisian. She rocks! And you can tell her I said that.

Was this BMW Inskip/Penske or whatever it is now? My father actually used to work at Audi Inskip.
I will definitely check them out -- my main concern is burning a bridge bringing in a car with downpipes then having them always know it was modded.. Just for reference, how bad was your rattle? i cant faintly hear mine on a cold start with the clutch in (i dont think its bad enough to warrant new turbos though!) Great to know they were helpful, and not too far from me as im from attleboro. I see your from swansea -- you dont happen to know the Charest's do you?

As for the Charest's, I do know them. My buddy grew up next door to them, actually. Great family! How did you ever make out with your car? 2 years late is better than never getting back to you at all, right?!

The dealership I worked with had no issues replacing them under warranty, but this was before I installed downpipes. They said they legally can't touch downpipes to reinstall that on a vehicle leaving their shop. The rattle was horrible @ 63k, and noticeable going up/down the work garage as it echoed off the wall.

My wastegate rattle started under warranty when she was away and the other aholes pretended like they didnt hear anything. Now I am at 100k with a lot of rattle. not sure when this is going to blow up and make me pay.

Are you sticking with inskip to do the work or are you going to take it to any indy shop? Do you have any recommendations for indy shops nearby? I have a couple of issues that need to be addressed soon.

if it's the LPFP, get the Fuel-It Stage 2. Not a hard install, especially with their new bucketless setup.
