anyone still running stock chargepipe after mods?

Running jb4 on e85. Car pulls soo much harder and after reading through the forums it sounds likethe stock chargepipes are so easy to blow. Wondering if it is a have to do mod? Or have people been fine with stock?

From what i've read, it's a gamble. Sometimes they blow, sometimes they don't. I've had people tell me its inevitable when running e85 and FBO.

I'm still using the stock CP with FBO mods and e85 and i'm happy to report it hasn't gone yet. I boost 17psi consistently and even after 10k miles the stock charge pipe is holding.

Friend had only a JB4 N55, charge pipe blew within weeks. I'd recommend changing it becuase they're relatively affordable and install is pass easy.

I prefer the philosophy of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Unless of course a cp/bov provides power increase which I believe is minimal...

Exactly what ATTN said, they're cheap so just do it.

If I recall correctly, Peter @ advan had a car with overboosting issues because of a cracked charge pipe also?

I put the CP up there with adding new plugs and coils when installing a tune If you have a cracked CP, you're going to have a leak = less powah! Also it's known for the CP to crack at stock boost levels, when running 18-20 psi no doubt puts more stress on the CP!

Why do people skip such a cheap modification that can possibly rob you of power at some point? SMH kids these days.

How embarrassing if you were racing and a cheap part like that blew up. "I would have beaten that car if my CP didn't blow!"

Excuses are for losers. Try to avoid being a loser.

I was planning to bitch out and do all the supporting mods first but after the dyno day I'm planning JB4 first, probably just map 1 until I get all supporting mods in place. No need to be too overly cautious. Map 1 wouldn't be too strenuous I don't imagine in order to require everything else changing.

Stock CP is plastic and plastic in ur turbos if it blows is probably not good
That said I understand it is the DVs that tend to fail and leak before the CP gives it up.... (just what I read)

Why risk it if you're modifying?

This part should be BAU for anyone running a tune.
