Can't locate "Corona" bulb fixture - passenger side
Hi,
The passenger side "Corona/halo/angel eyes" bulb burned out. P/N 63-11-7-161-444. I have found many videos showing how to change this bulb on the driver side my 2010 335d. Build sheet for the car says it has "Xenon Adaptive Headlights with dynamic auto-leveling and Corona headlight rings" But the videos always only show replacing the bulb on the driver's side, never the passenger side. All the exploded drawings Google found are of the headlight assy, driver side. None found for the passenger side. Searched the forum(s), lots of topics about upgrades of these bulbs, but no mention yet found of where the passenger side one is located. So far I can't locate the fixture to be able to change the bulb. (The passenger side is different because of the oil cooler.) I have taken off the wheel, front fender liner, all the inspection covers on and around the passenger side headlight assy, but so far, no bulb or fixture for the Corona ring has been found. If I move the oil cooler out of the way, there is one more plastic inspection cover that I could remove. Wondering if the light bulb and fixture is under that one? Or am I going about this wrong? Thanks, Frank |

X2 is a H8 bulb, you have to remove the fender liner to get it done, you could do it from the top removing the air box but expect bloody fingers lol

I have '09 LCI and xenon lights and they use H8 for the angel eyes so where did you get that bulb from?? It is hard to change without removing the wheel and liners but possible, I have done it on both sides with my big fat fingers All you have to do is the rounded dirt cover out and stick your fingers in there, remove the bulb by turning it 45 degrees (don't remember the direction) pull it out and replace with the new one (H8).

You know, the parts guy was not sure, even w/ the VIN, which bulb it was.
A conference of parts counter people selected the one shown. Hmmmmm. I'll take apart the driver side this weekend and see what they used. However, all the BMW parts web sites I checked call out the same 63-11-7-161-444 p/n for both sides, so the burned-out passenger side should be this bulb. There is one cover behind the oil cooler on the passenger side that I did not check, as it means moving the oil cooler. Looks like after I inspect the driver side, I'm going back to the passenger side and moving the cooler to find out what is under that one last cover. |

Thanks for the tip, it was an H8, parts guys sold me the bulb for a Halogen system, mine is XENON.
No wonder I could not find the weird P/N 63-11-7-161-444 bulb anywhere on the car. |

glad you resolved the issue I remember when I was replacing burned out for the first time, without opening I was searching the internet and each time it was telling me different bulb. Frustrated I went to the garage and took things into my hands, opened the lights from the back and inspected the bulb
