Identify bolt under turbo
Hello,
I have been receiving SES lights while trying to pass on the freeway and decided to check my plumbing. I found my charge air induction tract next to turbo cracked. While taking some of the other plumbing off I noticed a bolt under the turbo that was NOT used. Please see photo attached. What goes onto this bolt? Thanks |

That is a stud and there was a nut on it holding your intake pipe on. So yes, it was used.

That stud is used to attach the inlet pipe on other models, such as the E70. The E8X/E9X doesn't use it.. thank god. It'd be a bitch to get at!

koool.. Yeah it was a pita to put the stuck/piece back on. Good thing the e90 doesn't use it.
That bolt has a hex at the end. I should have just removed it. |

My E90 used it... I just put a Pure on 6 weeks ago. There is nothing else to hold the inlet pipe in place. It was not hard to get to at all. 1/4" ratchet and 6" extension.

^^ the stuck/piece that goes into that hole is held down with a bolt on top of the stuck/piece on my e92. u would think they would remove the bolt if its not being used.
