Installed Plugs & Coils - Misfires?

Changed plugs and Coils Question

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, I am the 3rd owner of a 2008 BMW 335i. It was CPO to me when I bought it with 58k miles. It now has about 70k miles. I have had 2 instances where I needed new coils over the past 10k miles and I threw a P0306 code and a service engine soon light. I figured let's grab four more coils online and while I am in there grab the Bosch plugs too (ZGR6STE2).

Long story short, I installed everything and torqued to spec and was expecting a smooth crank. The old plugs were actually in good shape. WHen i fired it up the engine was rough as heck and I could tell something was not right. So I checked to make sure everything was securely connected and it was and still the massive shaking and I even happened to throw more codes. P0305, p0302 and P0301.

I took everything out and reinstalled the old plugs and got things back to normal. I put the new coils in and cleared the codes and it ran fine.

My question is concerning the plugs. Should this not be pretty plug and play or did I need to give them some time to adjust?

Sounds like you did everything correct. Perhaps an injector is leaking?

Car runs like a top now. No codes. Just baffled by the plugs.

I think it may be a gapping problem on those new plugs.

If plugs are the variable and its on multiple cylinders and different banks it has to be the gapping like the post above says.

Ok, I will check the gaps out. The new plugs smelled heavily of fuel and were pretty dark when I took them out. Only in the car a max of 30 seconds.Thought they were pregapped but I will double check. I am looking to add a cobb accessport next month and wanted to knock out the basic maintenance issue like coils and plugs ahead of time. I'm ordering the CAP, Mishimoto intercooler and a charge pipe and calling it a day.

Those Bosch plugs come pre-gapped. That is an odd issue. Let us know what comes up.
